How the index works
Companies need a verified investor edge. Roles come from live career pages and drop off after 21 days without confirmation.
Who gets in
Companies need a verifiable relationship to a top investor we track (YC, a16z, Sequoia, and peers). Nothing enters the main list without that edge.
Where roles come from
Openings are pulled from company career pages (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby). We never invent jobs or job descriptions.
Freshness
Roles must be confirmed still open within 21 days. Older listings are hidden automatically. “Hiring” only means there is at least one live role right now.
Independence
MiddleLayer is independent and not affiliated with YC, a16z, or any firm in the graph. We maintain our own index.
What we won’t do
- Show roles we haven’t confirmed open in the last 21 days
- Mark a company “hiring” with zero live openings
- List companies without a real investor relationship we track
- Imply official partnership with YC, a16z, or any firm
